Why I'm Running
I have been given a boots-on-the-ground view of the impact of homelessness and the addiction crisis happening within our city in my role as the Chair of the Multnomah Neighborhood Association in SW Portland. The quality of life in every Portland neighborhood has been affected in some way. Portland residents are frustrated with the current leadership in City Hall and they feel unheard and disrespected.
I will ensure that every neighborhood in Portland's District 4 has a representative who truly listens to and respects its residents. My goal is to ensure that your voice is heard and you are treated as an important partner in all decisions made by our new Portland City Council.
Public Infrastructure
Our government should play a role in creating the best public infrastructure possible for our community via accessible public transportation and improved neighborhood bike and pedestrian ability
I’m passionate about Portland arts and culture. Our city thrives when our arts and culture community is strong and healthy. It's important to our local economy and our brand, they inspire us, and they make our community special and unique. I will work for more art, restaurant, and cultural options as well as shopping and child/family-friendly activities.
Diverse Affordable Housing
Ensuring access to fair housing for all who call Portland home is my goal. We must support and advance policies that enable all Portlanders to be able to afford to live, work, and thrive. We must recognize that every neighborhood has different needs and requires support in different ways. And what is the role that the City can play to achieve access to fair housing?
We must streamline permitting processes
We want to make it easier to improve and develop our housing supply. To that end, I support Portland's continuing effort to convert vacant office space in the downtown core into housing. It's a positive feedback loop of demand, which in turn will bring more people into the core to work, play, and invest.
